SFIO - Grief

I haven't been involved in the challenges over on Scrapbooking from the inside out, but this month the emotion is Grief and I needed to do some. So using the Sept Bad Girls kits here are a few LO's

Challenge 1: LO about the stages of grief. Journalling reads:
Grief is a cycle, a neverending cycle. It's something i think I will never get over and to be honest I don't think I want to "get over" losing Mum. I need to learn to accept that it is now part of who I am

Challenge 2: Lo about tears and crying Title reads: Sometimes you need a bloody good cry.
In the corner is a small photo of wine, ice cream and chocolate and it reads " or there's .."

Challenge 4: This was a joint challenge with the Good Grief blog. Create a LO about a conversation you would have with your loved one. There really is only one thing I would say to Mum and that is "I Miss You"

(title is from a Charlie and Lola kids book)

Over on SFIO this months emotion is Compassion. The first chellenge was about a cause you feel passionate about, mine is cancer research. I have lost both my grandfather, my aunt and my Mum to cancer.2nd Challenge was a LO about how we show compassion to ourselves

I believe I am a thoughtful person, I like to do things to help others or brighten their day, I don't do it for any other reason than I want to. It feels good and it feels right

In my Gratitude kit was a Maya Rd Key album, which to be honest I had no idea what I was going to do with, but now thanks to Sue I now have a key holder!

SFIO - Gratitude no2!

The latest challenge on SFIO was to do a LO with some kind of patchwork and to use flowers, and to scrap things you are Grateful for. I took it in a slightly different direction.
Hidden journalling is in the pocket behind the big flowers.
"I have learnt with my grief that crying over what I have lost and will miss out on is futile, it only makes me feel crap, instead it is far better (and I am sure what Mum would have wanted) to be grateful for what we did have.
I had a brilliant childhood and a fantastic relationship with Mum
Mum saw both Glenn and I get married and also remarried Dad
She adored her 3 grandchildren
We had a wonderful trip to New York, somewhere she really wanted to go to and I got to share it with her.
No matter what ups and downs she had she loved live and certainly lived.
Alot of people don't get to have half of what I had with Mum, and for that I am truely grateful"

More Joy!

Last 2 challenges on SFIO
Challenge 3: Create a LO using a song title and the 5 W's! Journalling is hidden behind the pp on the paper clip
Who: Mum, Dad and Will
What: Their first meeting
When: Dec 24th 2004
Where: North Hants Hospital
Why: Because grand parents like to meet their grandchildren as soon as they can!

"I will always remember the looks on Mum and Dad's faces when they came to the hospital to meet Will. Dad was trying really hard not to cry and Mum just let the tears flow! Mike filmed it all and put this song over the top, it just fights perfectly and makes me cry every time I watch it."

Challenge 4: Create LO from sketch and use a quote
Tried to fit the sketch to a 6x12, Quote is "There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved"

Scrapping from the inside out - Joy

So this months theme is Joy, and here are my LO's for the challenges
Pre-Kit Challenge - scrap a page about Joy using the colour that brings you joy
I glued lots of different chipboard fonts to the card and then painted over them all. I then journalled on some of them about the various things that bring me joy
Challenge 1: Scrap your guilt pleasure and use your scrapbook guilty pleasure.
Mine is Champagne and my scrapbook one is Thickers
Challenge 2: Scrap someone who brings you joy that is not your kids, spouse, pet etc
I love "Friends" it will alsways cheer me up
Challenge 3: Scrap someone who brings you joy, but you must be in the photo with them
Couldn't think of one so made a mini book
There was also a "progessive" challenge, where we were given 4 seperate tasks but spread out over time and you weren't allowed to look at the next stage until you had finished the previous one - IYSWIM!
Stage1: create a background using at least 3 PP or CS
Stage2: Add photos with at least one repeated
Stage3: Add title/journalling based on "Happiness is ..."
Stage4: Embellish but you must use 5 of the same thing.
Really enjoyed this!
